User options
The following table describes available user
options.
User option | Description |

Default Create Folder Setting | Enables creating folders in the Document Manager by default for new users, user groups, or teams. After enabling this option, the Create Folder check box is selected by default in the Add User, Add User Group, and Add User Team dialogs in NexJ Admin Console. Folders have view and edit security set to the user, user group, or team for which they were created. |
Enable Ad Hoc Reports | Enables ad hoc reports functionality, including user interface elements such as pages, toolbar buttons, tabs, and list columns. |
Enable Auto Assign Team Members | Enables automatic assignment of activity plan and opportunity stage plan tasks, documents, or other activities to other team members, based on coverage teams. |
Enable Batch Email from Document Manager | Enables batch email from the Document Manager for the current contact list. |
Enable Batch Print from Document Manager | Enables batch printing of documents from the Document Manager for the current contact list. |
Enable Business Process Form Page Bulk Edit | Enables exporting a business process form page. After exporting, you can edit the business process form in a text editor and import the form back into NexJ CRM. If you need the functionality that this option enables, contact your NexJ representative to discuss your requirements. |
Enable Campaigns | Shows the campaigns option in the Related tab of all activities and documents. To remove campaigns, disable this option and hide both the Campaigns workspace and the Campaigns tab in the Contacts workspace. For more information about personalizing NexJ CRM, see Overview of the Personalization page. |
Enable Canada Address Lookup | Enables selecting from a list of provinces and
territories when entering or editing an address with the
Country field set to
Canada. Note: This option does not affect
the ability to choose states when Country
is set to USA. |
Enable Capital Markets Model | Enables viewing holdings, research subscriptions, securities, stock interests, and transactions on the Contacts workspace, and client and ticker revenue summaries on the Home workspace. Specify privileges to enable additional Capital Markets features. For more information on how to enable Capital Markets functionality, see Enabling Capital Markets functionality. |
Enable Client Side Error Logging | Allows you to copy error traces to the clipboard if you encounter unhandled exceptions pertaining to the portal container. You can use the traces to find details about errors. |
Enable Contact's Company for Acts | Adds a contact's company to the For field when a contact is added to the For field for all activities. |
Enable CopyMerge Semantics | Preserves the source entity when an entity is merged. After the merge, the source entity is made inactive. Data from the source is copied to the target using existing merge rules. Disable this option to delete the source entity when merging entities. |
Enable Corporate/Commercial Banking Model | Controls the visibility of the corporate/commercial banking version of the Summary tab on the Contacts workspace. |
Enable Coverage Quick Find | Enables the ability to search on a coverage team member in the quick find tool's advanced search. |
Enable Create Folder | Displays the Create Folder check box in the Add User, Add User Group, and Add User Team dialogs in NexJ Admin Console. Selecting this check box allows the new user, group, or team to create folders in the Document Manager workspace. |
Enable Customer Self-Service Access | Enables access to the NexJ Self-Service Client Portal. |
Enable Default for Contact | Enables the automatic association of entities with activities. When you create a new activity, the last user, contact, household, or company that you accessed appears in the For field. Disabling this option leaves the For field blank. |
Enable Display of External Contacts | Enables the External Contacts zone in the
Attendees tab of schedule item dialogs.
The External Contacts zone displays when
schedule items that are synchronized from Microsoft Outlook
include external contacts, or people with no records in NexJ CRM. Note: For
more information on suggested settings for this user option, see

Enable Events | Shows the events option in the Related tab of all activities. To remove events, disable this user option and hide the Events workspace. For more information about personalizing NexJ CRM, see, Overview of the Personalization page. |
Enable Extended Custom Fields | Enables the currency type field for currency custom field types. |
Enable Favorite User List to include self | Enables a user to add self to favorite user list. |
Enable Financial Model | Controls the visibility of financial information by enabling the Accounts, Holdings, Transactions, KYC subtabs in the Portfolio tab on the Contacts workspace, and enabling the financial account, holdings, and transactions search criteria in advanced search. |
Enable Fixup of For/Assign To Lists | Allows you to manage users in user lists from within the Assign To field in an activity using the Manage Favorites menu command. |
Enable Forced Logging | Controls logging for batch print and batch email. Sets the logging default to Log interaction in contact's journal (with attachments). |
Enable Hiding Invalid Event Schedule Items in Journal | Enables showing an event schedule item in the detailed activities list in the Journal tab on the Contacts workspace, only if the schedule item has at least one participant with the Attendee participant type. Disabling this option shows all event schedule items in the detailed activities list, regardless of participant types. |
Enable Households | Displays the household name field in any add new entity dialog, such as Add Household, Add Contact, Add Company, in the Contacts workspace. |
Enable Inbound For Contact Synchronization | Enables matching the email
addresses of attendees in a Microsoft Outlook meeting with
contacts visible to the meeting creator in NexJ CRM.
If any matches are identified, the matching contacts are
included in the For field of the schedule
item. If a single email address matches multiple contacts, all
contacts are included. Note: For more information on
suggested settings for this user option, see Limiting visibility of contacts in schedule items
. |
Enable Inbound Sync for private meetings with multiple participants | With Hierarchical Access Model security enabled, you can enable synchronizing private meetings with multiple participants from Microsoft Outlook to NexJ CRM. |
Enable Integrated Lead Management | Enables integrated lead management for the user. |
Enable Legacy Business Process | Enables using the legacy business process functionality. Do not enable unless you require legacy functionality. Instead, use privileges to enable current business processes functionality. |
Enable Localization | Makes the Locale field available to the user in specific dialogs in NexJ Admin Console and NexJ Admin Console and in specific tabs on the Customize workspace in NexJ CRM. Use this option to allows the user to localize templates. |
Enable Location Initialization | Enables automatically populating the Location field when an event schedule item is created or updated. The location is populated with the Service Provider address if it's available; if it's not available, the location is populated with the preferred address of the first contact in the For field. Disabling this option disables automatically populating the Location field. |
Enable Meeting Alarm Synchronization | Enables bidirectional synchronization of alarms (reminders) for both recurring and non-recurring meetings. |
Enable Meeting Invitations | Enables users to delegate access to their calendar to other users. If enabled, the user can give other users permission to create meetings and send invitations on their behalf. The user can specify which users have delegate permissions on the Schedule workspace in the Set Permissions dialog. |
Enable Multi-Select in Call Lists Grid | Enables selecting multiple calls from a call list on the Call Lists workspace. Use this option to apply an action to multiple leads, such as changing the call date. |
Enable Multi-Select in Contacts Grid | Enables selecting multiple contacts from the contacts list on the Contacts workspace. Use this option to apply an action to multiple contacts, such as sending a batch email. |
Enable Multi-Select in Leads Grid | Enables selecting multiple leads from a lead list on the Leads workspace. Use this option to apply an action to multiple contacts, such as changing the lead's owner. |
Enable Native Message List Integration | Enables the user to receive messages in the native message list on their mobile device. |
Enable Notifications by Email | Enables delivery of notifications to the email address associated with a user. |
Enable Opportunities | Shows the opportunities option in the Related tab of all activities and documents. To remove opportunities, disable this user option and hide the Opportunities tab in the Contacts workspace and the Home workspace. For more information about personalizing NexJ CRM, see Customizing screens, toolbars, and portlets. |
Enable Parent Coverage Updates | Enables the ability for coverage changes made to child records to cascade upwards to parent records. Disable this option if you want coverage inheritance to cascade only from parent to child rather than the default bidirectional inheritance. Disabling this option also sets coverage to read-only for child entities. |
Enable Participant Response Synchronization | Enables synchronizing the attendance status of participants in meetings from Microsoft Outlook to NexJ CRM. |
Enable Products | Shows the products option in the Related tab of all activities and documents. |
Enable Public Schedules and Tasks | Allows users to view all other users' schedules and tasks. After enabling, any schedule item or task created in NexJ CRM is visible if the view security is set to public or if the view security is restricted to a user group that the user belongs to. Disable this option to require that certain users must only see their own schedule and tasks. If this option is disabled, users can use the Set Permissions dialog to allow specific users to view their schedule and tasks in the Schedule workspace. |
Enable Query Builder | Enables user-defined filters, for example, the contacts filter on the Contacts workspace. |
Enable Query Builder AND OR Operators | Enables the AND and OR operators in user-defined filters with multiple filter criteria. |
Enable Query Builder Custom Expression | Enables advanced logical expressions in user-defined filters. |
Enable Recent Activity Plans | Enables recent activity plans on the Home workspace. |
Enable Recent Approval Plans | Enables recent approval plans on the Home workspace. |
Enable Recent Documents | Enables recent documents on the Home workspace. |
Enable Recent Emails | Enables recent emails on the Home workspace. |
Enable Recent Schedule Items | Enables recent schedule items on the Home workspace. |
Enable Recent Tasks | Enables recent tasks on the Home workspace. |
Enable Recipient Screen When Notification Rule Satisfied | Enables the recipient dialog for schedule items and tasks when a notification rule is triggered. If this user option is disabled, notifications are sent without the option to add or remove recipients. |
Enable Regionalized Tiers | Enables the Tier & Rank tab when editing contacts. Allows the user to set the tier and rank for a contact for multiple regions. |
Enable Regions for Notifications | Enables restricting delivery of notifications to users who belong to the same coverage region as the user who creates or modifies the item for which a notification is sent. |
Enable Sales Coverage Picker | When selecting a contact's sales owner in the Meeting Request dialog, this option restricts the available user list in the Sales Owners field to just the users who are part of the coverage team for the contact. When disabled, the available user list in the Sales Owners field contains all users. |
Enable Security Check on Inbound For Contact Synchronization | Specifies which contacts
populate the For field when a schedule
item is synchronized from Microsoft Outlook to NexJ CRM.
When a schedule item is synchronized, the contacts for whom the
schedule item is created populate the For
field in the Attendees tab of schedule
item dialogs. When this user option is enabled, only the
contacts that are visible to all attendees populate the
For field. When this user option is
disabled, all of the contacts populate the
For field, regardless of their visibility
settings. Note: For more information on suggested settings

Enable Service Requests | Shows the service requests option in the Related tab of all activities and documents. To remove service requests, disable this user option and hide the Service Requests tab. For more information about personalizing NexJ CRM, see Customizing screens, toolbars, and portlets. |
Enable Task Alarm Synchronization | Enables bidirectional synchronization of reminders for tasks. |
Enable Tier Inheritance for Contacts | Enables tier inheritance for contacts from companies. When enabled, contacts inherit the tier from the company to which they belong. |
Enable Time Zones | Enables the ability to choose a time zone when creating schedule items. This option is enabled by default when Exchange Sync is set up. Disable this option only if all users are in one time zone. |
Enable User Fields | Enables the User Fields tab in the tabs zone, allowing users to add custom user fields to contacts. |
Run Phone Number Searches Against Unformatted Data | Searches for contacts by phone number on the Inbound Call workspace using only numeric characters. |
Submit Unformatted Data for Phone Number Searches | Searches for contacts by phone number on the Inbound Call workspace using any character type, for example, using numbers and symbols. |
